It’s been almost 8 years since the unfortunate and sudden closure of Palm Bay Garage Ltd in Cliftonville, and approaching the same period since Westwood Service Centre Ltd, under the guidance and ownership of David Locke, opened its doors.

 

David Locke, formerly the Aftersales Manager and employee for more than 23 years at Palm Bay was saddened by its closure.  After all, the Aftersales Department had continued to exceed manufacturer set targets, regularly topped leader boards for service and customer satisfaction and was ahead of budget right to the very end.  

David admitted that he found this time difficult but wanted to find a way that he could continue to do the job he loved and provide a reputable, honest and trustworthy service to the customers he had come to know so well.  He took the brave decision in such an unsettled economic climate, to secure the purchase of the parts stock, office/workshop equipment and the Palm Bay customer database enabling him to continue to serve the former loyal Palm Bay customers.  Now, as an all makes establishment, Westwood Service Centre Ltd is also able to expand on its service delivery and welcome new business through its doors too.

 

David said “It’s been a tough year, adjusting to the new location and establishing ourselves as a new business but I am delighted to say that the support we have received from former employees and customers of Palm Bay has been overwhelming and has really enabled us to look forward to a bright future. My ultimate goal is to continue to offer the high levels of service my customers have come to expect from me and my team at Palm Bay.  I believe excellent service comes from offering our customers  consistency, reliability, affordability and convenience.  Achievement of this vision  is imperative as reputation and recommendation is absolutely vital for a small business to succeed.  Working alongside a manufacturer for over 23 years has given me invaluable experience and skills of how to deliver customer excellence. By working within an establishment that would regularly undergo unannounced mystery shops, external auditing of vehicle history records and nationally published customer satisfaction records statistics, I believe I have a firm understanding of  what customers are looking for from a first class service delivery outlet”

He continued “An open and honest approach is vital to any small business; communication is key. We provide all our customers with a clear and concise breakdown of all work being carried out via fully itemised invoices and regular telephone updates as required.  In addition we provide photographic evidence to support any diagnosis of works required and keep the originals of replaced parts to present to the customer for explanation before disposing of them”
